Common Questions

Should I sell at the auction or sell to you?

Whatever fits you best. Local auctions are a great way to sell, and plenty of folks use both. We're another option for when it's easier to sell from home: you can't make sale day, you don't have a way to haul, or you'd rather deal directly with the buyer. Call us and we'll talk it through honestly.

What kinds of cattle do you buy?

Various cattle breeds: feeders, calves, heifers, cows and bulls, plus bred cows, pairs and steers. That includes more exotic breeds like Herefords and Wagyu. If you're not sure we'd want them, ask anyway.

Is there a minimum number of head?

No. We'll talk with you whether you've got one head or a whole herd.

How do you come up with your price?

We look at the cattle and price them against current market conditions for their type, weight and condition. We'll explain how we got to the number, and you're free to say no.

Are there any fees?

We make you an offer on your cattle, and the price we agree on is the price we work from. We'll go over everything with you up front, before you decide.

How and when do I get paid?

We pay quickly. We'll go over payment details with you directly.

I don't have a trailer. Do you haul the cattle?

Yes. We can pick up the cattle ourselves or arrange whatever hauling works best for you. If you'd rather bring them to us, that's fine too. We'll figure out what's easiest for you.

How far will you travel?

We're based on our farm in Kentucky and travel throughout a multi-state area to buy cattle. If you're not sure we come your way, reach out anyway and we'll tell you honestly whether we can make it work.

Am I obligated to sell if I fill out the form?

Not at all. The form just starts the conversation. You can say no at any point before the cattle are loaded.

What paperwork do I need?

Not much. We'll walk you through anything that's needed for your sale when we talk, so there are no surprises on loading day.

Do you buy sheep too?

Yes. We buy ewes, lambs and rams. Mention them in the Notes box or give us a call.

Rather Just Talk It Over?

Plenty of folks would rather pick up the phone. That's fine by us.
